Neurobiology of Schizophrenia and Other Psychoses

Aims to investigate neural substrates of psychotic disorders, particularly schizophrenia and psychotic disorders which are associated with epilepsy and secondary to psychoactive substance use in patients and healthy volunteers. The investigation is performed with the use of psychological, physiological, pharmacological and neuroimaging techniques.

Neurobiology of Anxiety and Mood Disorders

Aims to investigate neural substrates of anxiety disorders in patients and healthy volunteers with emphasis on Panic Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder, using psychological, physiological and pharmacological techniques and neuroimaging studies among others.

Risk Factors and Protection for Development

Aims to characterize typical or maladaptive behavior in specific stages of development and identify predictor variables and the effectiveness of intervention on difficulties inherent to the development stages.

Instruments and Assessment Indicators in Mental Health

Aims to develop, adapt and validate assessment tools in Mental Health and study mental health indicators in the general population, in specific groups and in Mental Health care services.
